Scottish Highlands

Scottish Highlands

We also provide guided walking adventures in other parts of the Scottish Highlands, such as a day walking in the Angus Glens or the Cairngorms. Or we can provide guided walking adventures over a few days in places like the West Highlands (but you would need to book your accommodation). Whatever you'd like to do, we'd be very pleased to help plan a walking itinerary and provide guiding for your walks. Here are some ideas:

The Angus Glens

Craig Maskeldie & Glen Lee (c) Perthshire Treks

The Angus Glens are often quiet, bypassed by visitors on their way to the Scottish Highlands further north or west. They are missing a lot! Glen Clova, Glen Doll and Glen Lee are fantastic glens, with a strong sense of place and history. Old drove roads and ancient routes cross over the hills.

The Cairngorms

Loch Avon & Shelter Stone Crag (c) Perthshire Treks

Think big open spaces, stunning mountain scenery and superb wildlife. The Cairngorms offer a vast range of walks from forests and glens to the high hills and mountain lochs. There is something for everyone in the Cairngorms area.

Western Highlands

Isle of Rum from Morar (c) Perthshire Treks

There are lots of great, rugged mountains to explore in the west and north-west Highlands, as well as a fantastic coastline, islands and remote glens. We've been to most parts of the Scottish Highlands and we can guide you on your walking adventures. Our focus is on searching out those beautiful but quiet places where you are unlikely to come across many other tourists or walkers. We're not a tour operator so we can't sort out things like accommodation or travel to the area but tell us what sort of walks you'd like to do and we'll design some walking adventures just for you.

Themed walking adventures

Prehistoric homestead near Allean (c) Perthshire Treks

Our guided walking adventures don't have to up the high hills. Highland Perthshire has a great history, with lots of old Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman sites, from standing stones to stone circles and from hill forts to old shielings. If you would like to visit some of these places, we can design some walks to these sites and guide you.

As summer mountain leaders, we can only lead walks on the higher mountains during the snow-free months which tend to be from about April to October/November. Outside of these months we can guide you on lower hills and through the glens or walks to historic sites, hidden corners and waterfalls.

Booking & extra information

If you're interested in a guided walking adventure outside of Highland Perthshire, please get in touch. Our booking process and prices are described on this page:

Children aged 12+ are welcome on many of our walking adventures, but they must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian. Give us a call to discuss what you'd like to do. Sorry, but no dogs.

You can experience a wide range of weather in a day's walking in Scotland, so our motto is to be well prepared, whatever the time of year. A pair of good walking shoes/boots, waterproofs, a small rucksack, some warm spare clothing and something to eat & drink are essential. Walking poles might also be useful.
